How to Make a Simple but Cute Tassel

There are so many different ways to make tassels! Here is a simple, but very effective way to achieve nice thick tassels.

Here I used 2mm 3ply rope. You can go thicker or thinner & change up the colors-so many options!

-I used a book to wrap the cord around (about 25 times)

-Using a separate piece of cord I tied Overhand Knots tightly on one side of the rope

-I then pulled the rope off of the book and cut through the other end of the loop

-Using a separate piece of cord I made a Wrap Knot about 1 inch below the top of the tassel

-Cut the cords to the desired tassel length and un-twist or brush out the rope for a smooth tassel look OR leave as is

-To add the hanging loop, use a separate cord to push through the loop on the top of the tassel and tie 2 Overhand Knots tight to the tassel and 1 Overhand Knot with both cords to create the loop

These are fun to add to wall hangings/weavings/plant hangers/ pillows...simple but cute, right?!

Let me know if you want to see more tassel videos-we can get very detailed!
